Predictable annual costs
Pay a fixed monthly premium and your out-of-pocket healthcare costs become highly predictable. No deductible surprises, no 20% coinsurance arithmetic, no end-of-year medical-bill stress.
Vol. 7 — Service / Medicare Supplements
Medicare Supplement plans (also called Medigap) work alongside Original Medicare to cover the deductibles, copays, and coinsurance that Medicare leaves on the table. Predictable costs, any-doctor flexibility.
Plans we represent
What is it
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) covers most of your hospital and outpatient costs — but not all of them. You're on the hook for deductibles, 20% coinsurance on most outpatient services, and unlimited daily hospital costs after day 60. A Supplement plan picks up some or all of those costs depending on the letter you choose.
The big advantage of Supplement plans is freedom. There's no network — any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare accepts your Supplement plan. If you travel, see specialists across state lines, or just don't want network surprises, this matters.
The trade-off is monthly premium. Supplement plans cost more per month than Advantage plans — but your annual out-of-pocket is far more predictable. For folks who use a lot of healthcare, the math often favors Supplement.
What you get
There are ten standardized Supplement plan letters (A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, N) and the difference between them is what they cover. Here's the framework we use to help you choose.
Pay a fixed monthly premium and your out-of-pocket healthcare costs become highly predictable. No deductible surprises, no 20% coinsurance arithmetic, no end-of-year medical-bill stress.
Any doctor, any hospital, any specialist that accepts Medicare. No prior authorizations from the carrier. No referrals required for specialists. Useful for travelers and folks with established specialist relationships.
Plan G from one carrier covers the exact same things as Plan G from another carrier — only the price varies. That makes shopping straightforward, which is rare in insurance.
Once you're enrolled, the carrier can't drop you or single you out for a rate hike based on health changes. Rates rise over time, but they rise for everyone in your plan and rating class.
Supplement plans don't include prescription coverage. Most folks pair a Supplement with a standalone Part D drug plan. Two cards, but each focused on doing its job well.
One more thing
“We'll tell you honestly whether Supplement is the better fit for you — and which plan letter makes sense based on your healthcare patterns and budget.”
